Portfolio Maintenance

This page allows you to add or remove portfolios and to select which currency you would like to use.

You can also change the default floating stop loss. It will be set to 10% to start with, but you can set it to a level of your own choosing. This will be applied to every purchase. You can however alter the FSL percentage for each purchase on a stock by stock basis in the buy screen.

Scan Filters

The Scan Filters page allows you to change the criteria of what stocks are shown in the Market Scan page.

You can choose to display all stocks or limit the display to stocks within a certain price range or to display stocks above or below a certain value.

To successfully trade a share, you need to be able to readily buy and sell it at your desired price. To do this, it is necessary to select companies that have high traded volumes on the market. This means that when you want to sell your shares, there is a buyer readily available to buy them.

To identify these companies, we set the minimum average turnover for the last 3 months to $100000. This means that the company has turned over on average $100000 worth of shares per day over the last three months. The dollar amount is a simplified calculation of the closing price multiplied by the traded volume. You can change this setting depending on your trading plan.

Watchlist Maintenance

This section allows you to create or delete watchlists.

In Chart Preferences you can select the default moving averages you want to use and decide if they are to be used when you open up a chart.
