Using charting patterns to find strong buy and sell signals is an effective and successful way to trade. However, when you first look at a chart, it will be unlikely that you will find these patterns. It takes practice and patience. Some people will develop this skill very quickly, while some people will take longer.
It is not necessary though to wait until you are proficient in finding charting patterns before you begin trading. You also have a wealth of charting indicators at your disposal to assist you in the decision making process.
